Shaken by Tim Tebow – Book Review

I picked this book up thinking it would be all about Tim Tebow, his life as a football player and the struggles he has faced as he showed the world his faith. I was immediately engrossed in the message that he has in this book. A message for all believers trying to hear God’s voice in whatever our circumstances. There are so many times when we just don’t know what God’s will is for our lives. We think that God has put us in a particular place but then that plan does not work out like we thought it would.

Tim shares about the let downs that he faced especially in the area of trying to make it as a quarterback in the NFL. In the midst of that he reminds us of the fact that God Loves Us and he knows what is around the corner for us. We can trust Him with our lives and with the path that our lives take. Tim acknowledges the fact that there are times when we are really disappointed because we thought that something (like landing on an NFL roster) would happen, but life (God) takes us in a different direction than we thought it would. It’s ok to be disappointed and upset and fearful, but in those times we have to pick ourselves up and continue to trust in God to lead us where He would have our lives go.

I really needed this book at this time in my life because I am at a place where I really don’t know what tomorrow holds for me. I have given God the worries of the future and I know that whatever happens he loves me and wants the best for me and will show me as I walk with him what the next step is. Right now I know that I am a child of God and He has a purpose for my life. I also know that His plan is bigger than my plans and I am choosing to trust in Him.

This really is a great book and I would recommend it for anyone. He has a lot to say to all believers. You don’t have to be a fan of football to receive the message of this book.
